Laundrettes & laundries

Wash water reuse

Wash, clean, repeat.

The problem

Most laundries have no on-site treatment, so every litre goes to sewer at trade-effluent rates. Detergents, softeners and hardness build up if wash water is recycled without proper treatment, leaving residues on fabrics and scale in machines.

Benefits

  • Lower water and trade-effluent bills
  • Less energy spent heating fresh water
  • Softer, consistent water, so less detergent and less scale
  • Delivered as one installed system, with no treatment plant to build

Application

Wash water passes through solids filtration, flocculation and UV to destroy residual bleach, then Danu Water's system removes the dissolved salts so the water can go back to the machines. These stages protect the membranes and come as part of the installed system. The same full train applies to any site that currently sends its wastewater to sewer.
