Scale control and recovery across the steelworks
An integrated steelworks runs many different water loops, from intake and gas scrubbers to casting, rolling and finishing. Lowering conductivity at intake, and again at key loops, cuts scale and corrosion throughout the plant. That means fewer forced outages, longer equipment life and less fresh water.

These are jobs, not a fixed line-up
The applications illustrate the jobs that are often needed in a steelworks. In practice, we design around each site's own combination of problems. Where and how much water we take, and where we return it, is up to you. Often a single unit can do several jobs, or a pair are designed to work together.
Application
Intake conditioning
Lowers conductivity at the primary intake, so every loop downstream has less work to do.

Scrubber loop control
Controls salt build-up in sintering, blast furnace and converter gas-scrubber loops, trimming blowdown.

Casting and rolling cooling water
Holds conductivity down in casting and rolling cooling loops, where tolerances are tightest.

Recovery from pickling and galvanising
Explores recovering iron, zinc and chloride from pickling rinse and galvanising wash water.
