Industrial water, back in use
Danu Water removes the salts, hardness and metals that stop water being reused. Our adaptive electromembrane separation shifts in real time to handle the variability of industrial water, from a laundrette to a mine site.
Find your sector
Each sector has its own water problems. Choose yours to see what Danu Water can do and where it fits in your process.
Paper & pulp
Hard intake water, salts building up as loops close, and metals carried in with recycled fibre.
Textiles manufacturing
Reuse 95%+ of dyehouse water, with salt always removed to your target and colour too where you need it.
Tanneries
Our tannery offering is in development. Get in touch if you're interested.
Laundrettes & laundries
A complete on-site system that cleans wash water for reuse, so less goes to sewer at trade-effluent rates.
Steel
Cut scale and corrosion across the whole works, raise cycles of concentration, and recover metals from finishing lines.
Mining & mine water
Treat mine water for reuse, polish discharge to meet permits, design water in from day one, and keep metals in leach circuits.
Distilling
Close the water loop in rum distillation: reuse water, potassium fertiliser and more biogas from vinasse and cooling blowdown.
Municipal & utilities
Turn treated municipal effluent into cooling water, and help data centres use harder local water instead of drinking water.
Hard water & groundwater
Soften hard water without salt or sludge, and make well, aquifer and brackish water usable.
Desalination
Push past reverse osmosis' ceiling: more water from every plant and far less brine, without extra heat or chemicals.

Prototype running TRL 6
Regularly testing real industrial wastewater samples, processing 0.4 m³ a day: about what three people use at home.

Industrial pilot at WEPA Bridgend TRL 7
Treating 60 m³ a day of real paper mill water, the household use of about 440 people, on a system with capacity for 400 m³ a day.

Selected for TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco.
Household comparisons use average UK use of 137 litres per person per day (Water UK). TRL is technology readiness level, on a scale of 1 to 9.
See it working
Copper sulphate colours the water blue. As our system runs, the salt moves from one stream to the other: the left side gets bluer as it concentrates, and the right side clears until virtually no salt remains.

Why it is different
Industrial water is never the same two days running. Most treatment is designed for a fixed condition and struggles when the water changes. Our system measures what is coming in and adjusts how it runs, continuously.
We deliver complete systems, not just membrane stacks: designed around your site and your water, with any pre-treatment it needs, and controls that keep it on target without an operator chasing it.
That makes reuse dependable enough to build a process around, and affordable enough that there is no green premium to argue about.
- 95%+ water recoveryfrom industrial wastewater, tuned to each site
- Low-energy operationno heat and no high-pressure pumping
- No direct CO₂ emissionsthe system runs on electricity alone
- Brine reductiona concentrate typically under 10% of the inlet, so disposal energy and costs are dramatically reduced
